Hebei Petroleum University of Technology began as the "Beiyang Technology School" founded in Tianjin in 1903. It is one of the earliest higher industrial vocational colleges in my country. The school began to serve the petroleum industry in 1952 and moved to Chengde City, Hebei Province in 1958. In January 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the educational resources of Hebei University of Technology City College and Chengde Petroleum College were integrated and converted into Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University.
